Let Me Count the Ways…
Posted in Alford Town News Editor on April 14, 2011
…that we are so lucky to be living in alford:
No earthquakes or tsunamis
Beautiful scenery
Wonderful back country roads (always good for a nice sunday drive)
Rushing streams to paint and fish in
Farms that help to sustain dairy needs
No corporate headquarters
Friendly and interesting people
Concerned citizens
Wooded areas to roam
Proximity to everything anyone would need
Home delivery of the NYT and WSJ
Some cell service (a work in progress)
Access to locally grown produce and farmers markets
Birds at every bird feeder
Hills to die for (especially when riding a bike)
Great forested trails for snowshoeing, cross country skiing, walking and horseback riding
Pastoral sounds if you listen closely
Attention to seniors needs who choose to remain in their own homes
A wonderful staff at the town offices
The annual alford Fire Dept. pancake breakfast ( I still want that recipe!)
People who serve on committees to make Alford a beautiful and secure place to live
Missing: a place to get a cup of coffee!
